BONES & SKULLDUGGERY
Initially, I started simply mounting skulls to wooden plaques — but as usual, they didn't stay simple for long!
Notable examples include rare specimens of the Racoonicorn, the hanging "Demeter's Tears" piece, and the exotic Jeweled Ermine. I have also adapted the Kintsukuroi aesthetic to damaged skulls, restoring them in a way that highlights the imperfections—but takes nothing away from their beauty. Bones at La Grotesquerie are cleaned and prepared using cold-water maceration and a lot of elbow grease, and continue to develop as a medium for expression.
