PHILADELPHIA ALT TAXIDERMY COMPETITION
This competition is organized by rock-star taxidermist Beth Beverley, whose studio, Diamond Tooth Taxidermy, specializes in couture pieces. She's been featured on the AMC show Immortalized and written about in numerous articles.
I was a bit starstruck at the prospect of meeting her in 2014 and sharing my work in front of "real" art taxidermists, but I found Beth to be a gracious hostess and the artists to be quite open and friendly. I just got back from the 2016 competition, where I felt more at ease -- and took FIRST PLACE!

The Fall 2015 event was moved to the spring of 2016, and was held at the RUBA club May 14. I took the Porculope, who took FIRST PLACE
in a crowded field of talented entries.

I had been following Beth Beverley online and learned that she had established an alt taxidermy competition in Philadelphia. It seemed crazy, but I talked it over with a friend and we decided to go!
